I used a Canon 400D for the early part of the trip (Japan and China), but upgraded to a
Canon 5D MK II in Hong Kong and used it for the rest.

I know! India was on our list, but our travel agent reminded us that there was only so much we could realistically achieve in 12 months.
India is really accesible from Ireland and we plan to do it as our next trip.
